I thought I read somewhere that the M2si and M3si were the same sans phono and dac. Click to expand... I know the m2si and m3i are the same internally but seeing how the m3si has dual mono configuration with 4 capacitors and more capacitance , i'm wondering if this would be an upgrade over the m2si

The bottom-line is that Musical Fidelity has just created the amplifier to beat at this price. The M3si offers high quality sound with an extensive range of useful inputs in a compact package with reliability and a fair price. The M3si uses Musical Fidelity's exclusive SMD layout techniques.

The M3si delivers 85 watts per channel into 8 ohms and 150 watts into 4 ohms. The M3si's sound is effortless, clear and sweet. It projects wide and deep images and has plenty of power to deliver excellent dynamic range. The M3si is unconditionally stable and will drive any appropriate loudspeaker with ease.

Musical Fidelity offers the M6i integrated which outputs 200Wpc in a dual mono design and includes a USB input and a set of balanced inputs. Price: $3000. Sonically the M3i is dead quiet, with no perceivable hum or grounding issues.

Specs appeal. The M3i sports six line-level RCA inputs, one of which can be switched to act as a fixed input should you wish to use the M3i in an AV system. The balanced input and USB input of the larger M6 are lost, which is a shame but understandable given the M3i is less than half the price.
